Summary:
To make a long story short, these are great clubs. I got custom fitted for them at Golfsmith - I must have hit 30 balls over the course of 45 minutes to an hour. The fitting was a careful and meticulous process, and when the clubs came in the mail from Ping a few weeks later, my clubs were just as specified. They are i10, purple dot (1.5 degrees flat), 3 through UW, regular flex AWT shafts, 1/4 inch short.

I think it's a combination of the custom fitting and the clubs themselves, but these are the best irons I've ever played. They have great feel and are very workable, but are also forgiving - I seem to lose very little distance on off center hits. These clubs seem to be the best of both worlds. They have the look and feel of blades (and the older model Pings I used to play), with the smaller clubhead, thinner top line, and minimal offset. They also are just a little more forgiving like the standard cavity back.

Distance has not been a problem. Granted, these clubs have stronger lofts than my old model Eye 2s, but even considering that, I hit these farther than my equivalent lofted Eye2s. I'm also pleased that I generally hit the ball high (but not too high) with these sticks.

I would recommend these clubs to any decent player. I can't speak for the scratch golfer, but I do know the i10s are good enough for Lee Westwood. For a good amateur who doesn't get to play much, they have the feel of a blade but are more forgiving. For a guy like me, who has floundered with a handicap in the high teens for years, these clubs have helped me improve and can now grow with me as I continue to get better. My handicap has gone from 18 to 11 in one season, thanks almost exclusively to my iron play, once a glaring weakness. My pull/draw has become simply a draw, due to getting a proper fitting with these great clubs. I have gone from hitting 2-4 greens per round (old Pings, in May)to hitting 7-9 greens (new Pings, last 2 months). Is it the new irons? You bet.

So, if you are a mid handicapper looking for a set that you can get to the next level with, or a scratch player, these clubs can work for you. I think these are probably a bit much for the weekend hacker due to the small clubfaces and lesser offset. The average slicer of the ball will especially struggle with the offset. Whoever you are, though, go get fitted at your pro shop with clubs suited for your swing and build. You'll be glad you did.

I have played Ping irons since I started golfing, from the old Karsten VI series to Ping Eye to Eye2 to Eye2 plus, and these are the best. With due respect, though, the i10s are the first set of all of these that I was ever fitted for.

Summary:
I affectionately call these clubs the father beaters, because I always beat my dad when I have these in the bag. Ping had it right with the I5's and really took a nice step forward with the I10's. I've played forged clubs before, from Stainless to Carbon forged, these clubs feel as good as some, and better than others. Theres a lot of help from thin shots and the balance and weighting of these clubs will have you working to improve your swing. You can absolutely design a shot. Great for right to left, not sure about left to right, I don't have an iron fade or slice in my bag. Fairway woods and drivers maybe, but not my iron shots. I tend to hit soft draws on my approach, and after 10+ rounds with these, I'm pretty confident I'll hit the shot I visualize. Par 3, hole 16 at Moneyhill in Abita Springs during a 4 man scramble. All water to carry, 140 to back pin location, 9 iron stuffed within 4 feet of the pin. Of course someone had already stuck it 2 feet from the pin according to the closest to the pin list, anyway, I made the putt (Thank you Scotty Cameron!) and just looked happily back at my bag. At least try a demo and see what you think, I've tried everything, (Ebay almost cost me my marriage!) and I'm sticking with PING.

PING customer care seems to be faster than all the other companies when it comes to fitting you and getting their equipment into your hands. I custom ordered from TGW for Callaway and they lost my order! When asked, after waiting 6 weeks for my clubs, if I'd like to place a reorder, I almost laughed as I politely said,...No thank you. Edwin Watts and Ping ROCK!

Summary:
Recently was "fitted" for the i10s. Just loved the way they looked on the rack and decided with a good "fitting" those would be the ones for me. Have shot one under a couple of times (mainly due to a red hot putter) with them, but just shot a miserable 79 today. I must say I have lost a lot of distance with these babies, but they can be quite accurate. However, despite playing a lot of golf I have never been fitted and really didn't know what to expect. 4spitz, you said a good hour is what it takes for a good fitting. I got no more than about 15-20 minutes and that was only to get the right color (black) of i10s. I got nothing else and I feel like I was cheated. Any suggestions. I'm close to carting them back to Edwin Watts for a little more service than I initially got. I think the i10s can eventually be the club for me, but it may take a much better fitting first.

Summary:
Previously played Ping i3's, then G2 irons. With the G2 I went from 12 handicap to a 6-7. Went to buy the G5 irons, but the fitter talked me into i10's. Really was not quite sure but I trusted him and WOW, now I'm a steady 2 handicap and these irons are just awesome. Very easy to hit, shape etc. Nice setup at address which gives you lots of confidence to hit the ball. Only drawback is I would say they are not dart throwers but that will come after I get them tweaked I'm sure. Very easy to get misfitted if the fitter does not spend a good hour with you. I had mine sent back twice.

A-1, they really stand behind their product and are always very easy to deal with.

Summary:
This from a 7 handicapper who's had these sticks for about 15 rounds........
They're great! Forgiving, workable, accurate. They're just the right combination of the above for me. When I'm "on" its lights out. When I'm not, they still get me around the course without getting too beat up. Mis-hits usually aren't too far from the target. Hard to hit a fat shot with these. I can remember only one so far, and that's usually my undoing with other sticks. Thin shots still get up and go. I played eye 2s for a few years and these are better than those. No pointy toes or excessive offset. Very blade like but forgiving. Anyway, if you're slightly intimidated by a true blade but want to upgrade to a player's iron, these fit the bill.
