macgregor tourney PMB

Summary:
I have played these irons for 6 full years and they're still in very good shape. There is a slight amount of rust on the soles of a few of the clubs but you have to look pretty closely to see it. The grooves are still in very good shape. Basically, these clubs have held up exceptionally well. If you're in the market for the absolute highest quality blades out there, a set of used PMB's would be a good move. These were retailing for about $1500 US when they came out. The high price tag was hard to swallow when I bought them, but 6 years later I can see that I was paying for top notch quality. Give these a serious look if you happen to find a used set for sale. From a performance perspective the main distinction from other blades is that the lofts are weaker. The PW is 50* compared to the usual 48* which just means you may not hit them quite as far as other models. However, the high loft has allowed me to play with 3 wedges instead of 4 and add a hybrid 2 iron. Long irons seem to be a little more user friendly with a ball flight that falls somewhere between typical muscle backs and cavity back blades.

Summary:
I enjoy using these irons.I have 4 sets of irons now and probably like these the best. They have the True Temper S300 shafts which suits my game nicely. Most guys my age are going with 7 and 9 woods but I have no problem with my 3 and 4 iron.A number of golfers have commente don their attractive appearnace.

Excellent

Summary:
Well crafted set of irons brings back memories of my caddy days back in the 60s when MacGregor was a serious player in the equipment market. These new edition can compete with the best of them.

MacGregor Forged PMB Tour

Summary:
I had been playing Macgregor PCB Tours for a couple of years and decided to try out the PMBs. The two sets complement each other very well. The PCBs are smaller-head cavity backs and the PMBs have more offset that you'd expect in blades. I currently am using 3-6 PCBs and 7-PW PMBs.

Both the PCBs and PMBs provide the great feel that you expect from forged clubs. Where the PMBs stand out is in their accuracy. The short clubs are pinseekers.
My goal is to work the longer clubs into my bag during the next golf season.

Customer Service:
Slow to respond by email, but very friendly and helpful on the phone.
